TOUR HIGHLIGHTS

Forth Rail Bridge

A

Forth Rail Bridge

Opening in 1890, the Forrth Rail Bridge was the largest manmade and most contemporary construction of its time having been the first bridge constructed purely of steel. The 8,296ft long bridge cost £3 million to build and took a staggering seven years to construct, with engineers Sir John Fowler and Sir Benjamin Baker assisted by task force of 5000 workers over the years.

Forth Road Bridge

B

Forth Road Bridge

Opened by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in 1964, when it was the largest suspension bridge in Europe, the Fourth Road Bridge is over two and a half kilometres long. The world-famous structure was designed with slenderness and elegance in mind and demonstrates the high level of architectural and engineering talent displayed across Scotland.

These bridges are encompassed in all tours in the east coast of Scotland. You experience a full view of the two bridges as you pass over the new Queensferry Crossing which runs on the west side of the Fourth Road Bridge.

St Andrews Tour

Taking its name from the apostle whose relics, legend tells us, were brought to this place in antiquity by St Rule, this small picturesque town holds a special place in Scotland’s history, adopting St Andrew as its national patron saint and donning his saltire cross across its flag. Although immersed in history, St Andrews is known worldwide as the “home of golf” and boasts some of the worlds the most famous and challenging golf courses.

Whether your attracted to the town for golf or it’s scenic surroundings, it is a captivating location when visiting Scotland.

Kellie Castle

D

Kellie Castle

Medieval origins meet Victorian style at Kelli Castle. Dating back to the 14th century, the castle was saved from ruin in the late 19th century by the famous artistic and architect family, the Lorimers. Crow-stepped gables and fairy-tale stone towers form the outer frame, while the interior boasts elaborate plaster ceilings and painted panelling which lies alongside furniture designed by Sir Robert Lorimer.

The contrasts in architecture and design make this unique building an unmissable excursion when exploring the Kingdom of Fife.
